Georgia Works Student Advisory Board
The Georgia Works Student Advisory Board is a group of students from different high schools around Georgia who are highly involved in Georgia Works. The students provide feedback and insight on ways to improve the organization’s program and services, as well as serve as a bridge between Georgia Works and the broader student community. The board’s purpose is to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to the program, ultimately helping Georgia Works to better serve its clients and the community at large. The board meets regularly to discuss issues, plan events, and provide feedback on various aspects of Georgia Works’ operations.
Billy McGahan Co-Chair
Billy McGahan Co-Chair
A native of Atlanta, Billy has been involved with Georgia Works since its inception in 2013. Billy also has extensive volunteer experience with From Houses to Homes, an international NGO created to provide pathways out of poverty for indigenous Guatemalans by providing safe housing, education and healthcare, and Camp Kesem, a summer camp for kids whose parents have or have had cancer. Billy is a graduate of The Westminster Schools and Yale University, where he earned a B.S. in Statistics & Data Science. He returned home to Atlanta after graduating from Yale and now works as an analyst for Roark Capital, a private equity firm headquartered in midtown.

Andrew Conquest – Co-Chair
Andrew Conquest is a passionate advocate for the Georgia Works mission and has been involved with the organization since 2022. As the Co-Chairman of the Student Advisory Board, Andrew brings extensive experience in community engagement and volunteerism to the organization. He has previously volunteered with advocacy groups, served in public office, and supported other non-profits in his local communities. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Alabama and works as a Management Consultant at EY. He is committed to helping Georgia Works achieve its mission of breaking the cycle of homelessness and promoting self-sufficiency through advocacy, outreach, and strategic partnerships.
Amanda Glidden
Amanda Glidden
Amanda is a member of the Georgia Works Student Advisory Board. She has been with the program since its inception in 2023. Amanda was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia and currently attends Westminster high school as a sophomore. With the goal to serve her community Amanda has been involved in many service organizations such as, Social Change and Leadership Council, Habitat for Humanity, Re-loom, and Freedom 4 Girl. Outside of service Amanda enjoys singing and acting through choirs and shows, as well as writing.
Arjun Naidu

Arjun Naidu is a Junior at The Westminster Schools of Atlanta, where he is involved with the Student Alumni council, the tennis team and Student Government, He brings a strong commitment to community engagement and servant leadership to the Georgia Works Student Advisory Board, since its establishment in 2023. Arjun actively participates in various community service initiatives, volunteering at Odyssey of the Mind and a dedicated participant in the Agape Teen Leaders program since its inception. He also actively participates in the Civic Engagement Fellows program at Westminster, runs a family non-profit, and is working towards his Eagle Scout Rank. He is driven by his passion for combating homelessness and food insecurity in Georgia and looks forward to continuing his work and enthusiasm as a member of the Georgia Works Student Advisory Board.
Carmie Abegaz
Carmie Abegaz
Carmie Abegaz is a junior at Westminster, where she has attended since pre-First. There she participates as a co-president of the Women’s Empowerment and Leadership club, a 2nd year Civic Engagement Fellow, Black Student Leader, and other groups on campus. She loves assisting her school’s sports medicine team as a Student Athletic Trainer throughout the year. She enjoys spending time with her loved ones and trying new foods with her friends. Outside of school, she serves as the VP of girlFriends for CHOA, and finds new ways to engage with her community. She hopes to continue engaging and helping the Atlanta community as a member of the Georgia Works Student Advisory Board this year!
Julia Gibney
Julia Gibney
Julia Gibney is a sophomore at Westminster high school, and has been going there since third grade. She plays year round lacrosse and participates in many groups at school such as the Social Change leadership council, the AAPI affinity group, and the lacrosse and swim/dive team. She loves to volunteer outside of school, working at places like Meals on Wheels, delivering food to those in need. In her free time, Julia plays the piano and enjoys cooking. She is excited to work with Georgia Works and spend time bettering her community.
Elana Gardner

Elana Gardner joined the Georgia Works student directory board at its inception in 2023. An Atlanta native, she has attended The Westminster Schools since 2017 and is a current 10th grader. She is involved with debate, the Social Change Leadership Council, and track. Outside of school, she volunteers with organizations such as Meals on Wheels and Books For Africa. In her free time, Elana enjoys writing, playing the oboe, and spending time with family and friends.
Chukwuka (Chuka) Okwumabua
Chukwuka (Chuka) Okwumabua
Chukwuka (Chuka) Okwumabua is a member of the Class of 2025 at The Westminster Schools. He is the Founder and President of the Political and Economic Reform Club as well as a member of Civil Dialogue Fellows, where he works to make the Westminster community more cognizant of the socio-political issues that effect their everyday lives. Chuka participates in Model United Nations and World Schools Debate for his school, and he teaches debate to other young people of color as an instructor for the Veritas Debate Institute. Outside of school, Chuka enjoys weightlifting, comic books, movies, history, and philosophy. Concerning the last two, he has specifically studied Greco-Roman history and the Philosophical works of scholars such as Plato, Machiavelli, and John Locke. The ideas promulgated by authors like these and implemented throughout history have shaped the world we know today, one of many great achievements, but also one wrought with issues. As a member of the Georgia Works Student Advisory Board, Chuka hopes to address some of these issues, namely homelessness in Atlanta and the associated implications through hands on work and active engagement.
Eva Bevington

Eva Bevington is a junior at Westminster who enjoys running on the Track and Cross Country teams. She also participates in the school’s yearbook team, newspaper, and writing program. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She has lived in Atlanta her whole life, and she hopes to be able to help her community as much as possible.

Claire Kim is a sophomore at Westminster and joined the Georgia Works Student Advisory Board since its founding in 2023. As an avid participant in community service, she has been involved in homeless service since middle school and is a part of the Social Change Leadership Council and UNICEF club at school. She is also a member of Model UN, the school newspaper, and does cross country and rowing during the school year. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, baking, and playing the cello.

Cami is a Junior at Fellowship Christian School. She has a passion for community service and enjoys helping others. Her involvement in National Charity League has furthered her interest in serving the community, through NCL she has enjoyed working with Meals by Grace and North Metro Miracle League as well as other organizations. In school, she enjoys working with Sports Medicine by serving as a Student Athletic Trainer.

Adriana grew up in Atlanta and is a rising junior at Westminster. Her passion is Public Policy especially in terms of human welfare in her community. She is an elected member of her school’s Social Change and Leadership Council and is involved in many local nonprofit organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Chastain Horse Park.

Daniel Qiu is currently a junior at Westminster. He is excited to be on the Student Advisory Board this year. In school, he takes part in the Social Change Leadership Council, Math team and Mu Alpha Theta. Outside of school, Daniel plays baseball, clarinet, and piano. He is looking forward to a great year!

Lilly is a current Junior at Fellowship Christian School. She participates on The FCS varsity tennis team and last year attended IMG Academy for tennis. She is also joining the Sports Medicine football training staff for the football season this year. In her free time, she hangs out with friends and family and loves animals and baking. She is trying to help as much as possible with the community and is very excited about helping to make a change in the homeless environment in Atlanta.

Sam Mohr is a senior at Westminster, at Westminster he is a member of the varsity soccer team, squash team, and WCAT the student run broadcasting program. Outside of school he enjoys making art, watching sports, listening to music, and spending time with his friends and family. He is currently involved in community service through the Odyssey program and Atlanta Community Squash. Sam joined the Georgia Works student advisory board during its first year, in order to help make a difference with the homeless population in Atlanta.

Sophomore Hayden Githuku will be a first-year board member for the Georgia Works Student Advisory board. Born in Nairobi, Kenya but raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Hayden will be an Alpha Omega when she graduates Westminster in 2025, after her older brother in ‘21. Hayden has a love for books and writing as she has taken part in several Creative Writing programs within the years and will be helping her aunt with her publishing company in Nairobi over the summer. When Hayden is not writing articles for the school newspaper TheBiLine, rowing, or swimming, she enjoys her freetime by trying new coffee shops, babysitting with her neighbor, and nurturing her yen for traveling by visiting new places all around the globe. She hopes to learn more about the Atlanta Community and ways in which she can help Georgia Works to achieve their personal narrative.

Jamison Shears
Jamison Shears is a member of the Student Advisory Board. She grew up in Atlanta Georgia and attends the Westminster Schools. She is an active Civic Engagement Fellow, as well as a Black Student Leader at her school. She spends time volunteering at Feeding Families and ACFB. She really enjoys piano, playing soccer at school and her club and hanging out with her friends.
